This is another film with an ensemble cast like "The Expendables". While that Stallone ego-trip gathered all the washed-out action stars together, in "Grown Ups", Adam Sandler gathers together a number of washed-out comedians (namely, David Spade, Kevin James, Chris Rock and Rob Schneider) plus Steve Buscemi thrown in for good measure. The result is a funny, heartwarming and thought-provoking (in the "Hollywood" sense, that is) film for the whole family. Five guys in their 40s (and their families) get together with each other for a weekend because of their former coach's funeral and they do the usual - e.g. make fun of each other, lie to each other, lust after each other's wife/daughter/mother-in-law/dog, do silly things that involve bows-and-arrows, etc. I actually found myself enjoying this film even more than "The Expendables", if that was even possible. Throw in an 80's soundtrack, babes like Salma Hayek and Maria Bello, and this film is pure gold. :)
