Bendis On Moon Knight

I'm still unsure whether I dreamed it or it's real. Very late last night, I was browsing the net when I read this piece of news. Brian Michael Bendis is teaming up with his DD-collaborator Alex Maleev on a new book - "Moon Knight"!!! And the duo will be on the book for as long as Marvel and the fans will have them.

This is too good to be true. I've always loved the Avatar of Khonshu. The last time this character generated this much interest was when novelist Charlie Huston revived him with the help of artist extraordinaire David Finch a couple of years back. Huston was taken over by Mike Benson and the series showed Moon Knight fighting Norman Osborn's Thunderbolts, the death of the Marc Spector identity and Moon Knight moving "down south". After that series ended, we got the "Vengence of Moon Knight" series and multiple appearances in "Secret Avengers", "Shadowland" and the upcoming "Heroes For Hire". Here's hoping that the Bendis-Maleev run will drive the character into being a first class character - he's been stuck in the second-stringers club for a little too long already. Bendis-Maleev would be able to match or even surpass the original Moench-Sienkiewicz team, judging by their previous work together on "Daredevil".

In the meantime, you can catch up on all your Moon Knight reading by starting with the recently released "Countdown to Dark" hardcover and then dive into the three "Essential Moon Knight" volumes, the five volume HC/TPBs collecting the entire Huston-Benson run and the "Vengence of Moon Knight" TPB. After that, head on to the Moon Knight Message Board and read some writings by Kevin, the most devoted Moon Knight fan on the face of the earth.
