Review: Hisss

If you've read books by folks like R.A. Boulay, David Icke and Graham Hancock, you will want to watch the Jeniffer Lynch directed film "Hisss" about a snake-woman. Particularly if said snake-woman is played by the super-sexy Mallika Sherawat (who last appeared in the Jackie Chan film, "The Myth").

Well, I said that you'll want to watch it but I can't guarantee that you'll like it. Problem is, Lynch (yes, she's the daughter of the legendary quirky director David Lynch) tried to be too faithful to the Indian style of filming. The result is a film that looks cheap and feels disjointed throughout. The snakes are made out of rubber and about the only attraction in the film is Mallika Sherawat herself (in various stages of nudity). The rest is a collection of cliches so bad that even B-movies these days no longer use them.

The only thing you'll learn, if you're a student of ancient history and myths like me, is that some Indians/Hindus still worship serpents. Big deal. Even my neighbours here do that. In fact, there's a serpent temple not 5 kilometres from where I stay now. Truth is, I don't need to watch this lousy film to know that. Actually, the lousy CGI in the film will end up making you disbelieve the entire "serpent" myth rather than affirm your belief in it.
